Dear partners and allies,
Today we submitted our comment [[link removed]] – signed by 725 national, state, and local organizations – in response to the DHS public charge proposal [[link removed]] . And, as of 12 noon ET, over 4,700 comments have been submitted in response [[link removed]] to the proposal. THANK YOU for showing up – this week, this month, this year.
The fight is nowhere near over. We envision a caring society where every individual is valued for their humanity, immigrants and their families thrive and are recognized as pillars of community strength, and everyone has access to life’s essentials.
Public charge is only a small – yet significant – part of our long-term work to ensure immigrants and their families can live with dignity, and your mobilization to oppose the public charge proposal is not in vain.
We invite you to amplify the comment through your communications channels using our Public Charge Sign-On Communications Toolkit [[link removed]] , which includes a sample press release, sample social media posts, and other helpful resources to make it easy to spread the word.
We end the year with a strong showing, reaffirming our belief that together we are stronger in the ongoing struggle for justice. Thank you – today and always – for your partnership and commitment to stand with immigrant families and communities.
May you find time to rest and enjoy this holiday season with your loved ones.
In solidarity,
Adriana and the PIF Team
