As the first year of the 119th Congress comes to an end, I wanted to share a look at some of the work I did on behalf of Illinois’ 11th Congressional District in 2025.

In the Community

The 11th District spans across eight different counties. As I always say, if you drive 45 minutes from O’Hare in any direction, you’ll end up somewhere in our district…or Lake Michigan.

I spent much of last year traveling around the district, talking with constituents and community organizations about their priorities. In total, I attended 360 meetings and events throughout IL-11. My office hosted over 20 community events, including 8 town halls.

Constituent Services

Making sure my constituents receive effective and efficient services from my office has been my priority ever since I began serving in Congress. Chief among those services is assisting constituents who are owed money by federal agencies like the IRS, the VA, and the Social Security Administration. In 2025, my office returned $3,451,114.55 to constituents and resolved 751 cases.

Legislation & Committee Work

In Washington, I introduced and cosponsored 191 bills this year. On the House Financial Services Committee and as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions, I remained an advocate for expanding opportunity for all Americans and building a financial system that works for everyone. 

I also sit on the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee. As Congress’ only PhD physicist, I advocated for increased scientific research funding and led important discussions on the future of AI. In total, I attended 45 hearings and bill markups.
