Obamacare is an abject failure – those who created it made pie in the sky promises and gave the American people preset options that did not meet their needs. You’ll remember when this calamity was first ginned up, I’m sure. Congressional Democrats never exercised any foresight into the effects that their harebrained scheme would have on the lives of the American people – remember when Nancy Pelosi said, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it”? Democrats simply stuffed this rotten concoction down the throats of the American people, dusted off their hands, and gave themselves a big pat on the back. Obamacare was a disaster from the very beginning.

This week, House Republicans passed a significant piece of legislation to undo the damage of the Democrats’ failed health care system. On Wednesday, we passed H.R. 6703, the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act, that will give the American people the choice, affordability, and access that they have never found under Obamacare. Contrary to the mistruths and inflammatory rhetoric that Democrats have been conjuring up all week, this legislation will bring about lasting, positive change for every American. It will lower health care premiums, increase health care access, expand choice in health care, and bring about greater transparency.

And here are two important facts that everyone should pay attention to: 

• H.R. 6703 will lower premiums by 11 PERCENT for all Americans.

• It will also save hardworking taxpayers approximately $30 BILLION.

Unlike the Democrat plan of extending their COVID subsidies that are riddled with waste, fraud, and abuse – that I have called to your attention multiple times, including last week – H.R. 6703 does not put a Band-aid on a ruptured artery. On Wednesday, I spoke on the House floor in favor of this important legislation, and I exposed the Democrat mistruths that I mentioned to you earlier. I was very proud to have helped shepherd this legislation through the House Rules Committee, and to have cast my vote in favor of it when it came to the House floor for a full vote.

New Scam Alert

Artificial Intelligence (AI) scams are on the rise, and bad actors have been hard at work to steal sensitive, personal information of Americans during the holiday season. According to LexisNexis, when it comes to scams, AI has driven a 35% to 45% surge in holiday scams from just last year. What’s more, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) estimates that American consumers lost more than $12.5 billion to fraud last year due to these kinds of scams. From fraudulent emails to text messages, deceptive social media ads to robocalls, these kinds of scams take many different, covert forms.

A Piece of American History

One of the most talked about, and especially famous, moments during the Revolutionary War was Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River. On the night of December 25, 1776 – and in the early hours of the next day – George Washington led close to 2,500 Continental soldiers across the freezing Delaware River to defeat Hessian soldiers who were stationed in New Jersey. The famous painting Washington Crossing the Delaware by Emanuel Leutze, may immediately come to your mind – it’s a powerful painting, and one that depicts this daring mission. In the end, Washington and his Continental soldiers crushed the Hessians and secured a monumental victory at the Battle of Trenton.
