I want to tell you about one of the bravest, most principled leaders I’ve ever had the honor of serving alongside in Congress: Rashida Tlaib.
Rashida is fearless. She is unapologetic. And she has never wavered in her commitment to justice — even when powerful interests have tried to silence her.
As the first Palestinian American woman elected to Congress, Rashida has faced relentless attacks from right-wing billionaires, corporate PACs, and pro-war lobby groups because she refuses to back down from demanding human rights, dignity, and freedom for all people.
And still, she leads.
Rashida and I have stood shoulder to shoulder in this fight. Together, we helped launch the first-ever Environmental Justice Caucus. I was proud to join her on the Justice for All Act to strengthen our civil rights laws and defend LGBTQ+ communities, and she has been a powerful partner in my work to confront obscene billionaire wealth through the OLIGARCH Act.
Rashida is a consistent moral voice in Congress — whether she’s demanding accountability for war crimes, fighting to protect working families across this country, or standing up to corporate greed and political corruption.
She was one of just a handful of members of Congress willing to take a courageous stand to block U.S. military funding that enables human rights abuses. And she continues to push our colleagues to confront hard truths, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Because of that courage, Rashida will once again be a top target of right-wing billionaires and special interest groups determined to crush progressive voices. That’s why early grassroots support is so critical.
I need leaders like Rashida Tlaib by my side in Congress. Our movement needs her voice. And together, we can make sure she’s able to keep fighting for justice, dignity, and liberation for all.
