John, Instead of cracking down on industrial water pollution, House members in Congress are voting to enable it — putting clean water under attack. Within the past week, Congress voted to advance two bills that would slash our country’s core environmental laws, making it easier for big polluters to dirty our water and harm our communities — all so factory farms and fossil fuel corporations can boost their profits. These bills have passed in the House, but we still have an opportunity to stop this dangerous legislation in the Senate! Tell your Senator to vote NO on the PERMIT Act and the SPEED Act — dangerous attacks on our clean water protections.
The PERMIT Act would erode bedrock environmental legislation, the Clean Water Act, stripping waterways of protection, enabling agricultural pollution, and letting PFAS polluters go unchecked. The SPEED Act would weaken environmental reviews, speeding up fossil fuel pipeline construction and giving industrial agriculture a pass to threaten clean air, water, and public health.
