Michigan Democrats are heading into our final end-of-year fundraising deadline on December 31 at midnight. We couldn’t be clearer about what’s at stake.

After months of warnings from Democrats, Republicans just ensured that health care costs will skyrocket for hundreds of thousands of Michiganders by refusing to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits that families depend on to afford coverage.

That decision means premiums will double (or worse) for nearly 500,000 Michiganders, forcing seniors, parents, cancer survivors, and working families to face “unprecedented sticker shock.”

Republicans like John James (who wants to be our next Governor) and Mike Rogers (who wants to be our next U.S. Senator) backed this outcome, then dodged reporters as families began getting notices about massive price hikes starting January 1.

Michigan Democrats fought to stop this, but Republicans chose politics — and billionaire tax breaks — instead, and they used control of Congress to make it happen.

That’s why this deadline matters.

When we close the books on our end-of-year numbers and prepare our public report, Republicans will be looking for weakness. We need to show that Michigan Democrats are organized, funded, and ready to hold them accountable in 2026 — from Congress to Michigan’s State House.
