Grassroots organizers blocked or delayed $98 Billion in data center projects in 2025. This wasn’t tech executives or policy experts that made this happen. It was organizers — from Atlanta to Amarillo, most fighting to protect Black and brown communities from corporate extraction. MediaJustice helped make these wins possible.

Here's What 2025 Looked Like for MediaJustice
We hosted our seven-part political education series WTF: the Rise of the Tech Broligarchy for 3,000+ organizers, where we broke down the plays, harms, and opportunities as they happened during Trump’s first 100 days in office.
In partnership with Memphis Community Against Pollution (MCAP), we convened 100+ organizers in Memphis, TN to learn from one another and provided grassroots organizers with the resources and relationships they need to resist data center development.
We partnered with Eye on Surveillance and Fight for the Futureto organize a teach-in and fact sheet breaking down how surveillance tech repeats systemic patterns of racial discrimination and is weaponized to target marginalized communities in New Orleans and beyond.
We learned accessible political education grows our movement. Grassroots resistance builds narrative momentum. And when we organize, we win.
Tech Oligarchs aren’t slowing down in 2026 and neither are we. Join 400+ organizers in Atlanta for Take Back Tech III on April 17-19th, 2026. In partnership with Mijente, we'll map out the next fights, share what’s working, and build the coordinated resistance this moment demands.Â
