Pontiac, Mich.– Oakland County supports the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Chief Medical Executive Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian’s decision to align with the American Academy of Pediatrics’ (AAP) evidence-based immunization schedule, particularly around the birth dose of hepatitis B.
Oakland County Health Division will continue to administer and recommend vaccines following the AAP schedule because the science clearly shows that timely vaccination protects our most vulnerable residents. As a foundation of the health and well-being of our community, Oakland County remains committed to ensuring that every resident has access to vaccines. County Executive administration and the Board of Commissioners approved an additional $300,000 for vaccines in fiscal year 2026.
