1) More Good News On Prices
Yesterday’s report on inflation was filled with encouraging news as the CPI has fallen to 2.7% year-over-year and the trend in the last two months has inflation on a course to dip to below the Fed target of 2%.
Why are people so angry when the average income is rising faster than prices?
Part of the problem is psychological: Americans are focused on things that are rising in price (like beef) not falling in prices (like pork chops).
Here’s a handy guide of major consumer items that have fallen in price under Trump 2.0:
A bar graph with the title, "Largest price drops in CPI, Nov 2024 to Nov 2025."

2) Mitt, We Hardly Knew Ye
Or maybe we did and shouldn’t be surprised by this sanctimonious headline in today’s New York Times:
[link removed]
Lest we need to remind you, Mitt was the 2012 GOP candidate for president running on a platform of “no new taxes.” We always suspected that if he won, this would be the first promise he would break. Thank God he didn’t get a chance.
Incidentally, Mitt, the bean counters just announced that federal tax revenues came in above $5.2 trillion in fiscal 2025 - an all-time record. You’re welcome to contribute more on your tax form if you like.

3) If You Think Republicans Are In Bad Shape…
Look at Congressional Democrats.
Yes, President Trump's approval numbers are scraping 40%. In the new Quinnipiac University's poll, House Democrats have a 47% to 43% advantage over Republicans in a generic House vote.
But that's not the whole story. Quinnipiac shows Democrats in Congress with their lowest job approval EVER.
CNN data guru Harry Enten was in disbelief at that number, saying that "in the minds of the American public…" Democrats "…are lower than the Dead Sea."
The specifics: "Overall, they are 55 points underwater. Their approval rating is south of 20%. It's even worse when you look at independents. Look at this: -61 points! ....Quinnipiac has been polling this question for the better part of the 21st century. They have never found Democrats, at least those in Congress, in worse shape than they are right now."
Democrats are up 4 points in the polls, but historically they are up close to 10 points at this juncture on the political calendar when there is a Republican in the White House.
Welcome to our two political parties: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb.

4) Affirmative Action Discriminates Against Brown-Skinned Americans
We’ve been saying this for two or three decades. The primary victims of racial quotas are Asians, not whites. So much for the helping “people of color” charade by the left.

5) Love Your Political Enemy
Actor James Woods, one of the few outspoken conservatives in Hollywood, on his friendship with the late Rob Reiner:
I would be at a party at my friend's house, and people who did not know that Rob and I knew each other, they would see us laughing and kidding each other and they would go, 'How is it that you and Rob Reiner are friends?'
I said, 'What do you mean?'
They said, 'You are so different in your politics and so on.'
I said, 'Look, let me explain something to you about Rob Reiner, so that you know. First of all, I judge people by how they treat me, and Rob Reiner was a godsend in my life.' We got along great. We loved each other. We had more fun together doing a very serious subject. It was a way to kind of get through it. And he was always on my side.
But when people would say to me, 'What do you think of his politics?'
I would say, 'I think Rob Reiner is a great patriot.' Do I agree with some of, or many of his ideas on how that patriotism should be enacted to celebrate the America that we both love? No. But he doesn't agree with me either, but he also respects my patriotism.
We had a different path to the same destination, which was a country we both love.
