Diana Harshbarger for Congress Announces Campaign Co-Charis

Kingsport, TN - Today, small business owner and Republican candidate Diana Harshbarger’s campaign for Congress announced that Bristol Businessman Mitch Walters, Pastor Phil Hoskins, and Colonel Greg Johnson (USAF, Ret.) will be joining their team as Campaign Co-Chairs.

“I am honored and humbled to have received the support of Mitch, Phil, and Greg, their ties to the community, and institutional knowledge will help ensure victory for our campaign,” said Harshbarger. “While my opponents are propelled by the 80 years of collective political experience between them, this campaign is fueled by the hard-working men and women of East Tennessee.”

Greg Johnson is a Kingsport native and retired Colonel in the United States Air Force and served over 34 years in both enlisted and officer positions. He’s supported every major U.S. Combat Operation from Eldorado Canyon (Libya 1986) to Operation inherent Resolve (Syria 2018). “I am honored to be a part of Diana’s winning operation. She sought me out and took the time to listen and learn about issues facing our active duty men and women as well as our veterans. I have complete confidence that Diana will be a tireless advocate for our armed forces and Veterans.” said Col. Johnson.

Mitch Walters is the owner of the Friendship Automotive Enterprises. Mitch started at the ground level in the automotive industry before moving to management and eventually opening his own business in 1993. His business now has over 18 locations in 7 cities and has been recognized as being Automotive News top 100 dealerships to work for since 2011. “We need more business-minded people in Government, and less government in our business, and that is exactly what you will get with Diana,” said Walters.

Dr. Phil Hoskins joins Diana’s campaigns as one of the most well-known religious leaders in the district. Dr. Hoskins is the former Senior Pastor of Higher Ground Baptist Church, where Harshbarger taught Sunday School for over 20 years. “ It was my privilege to be Diana’s pastor for twenty-four years and she was one of our most active members. She was a faithful Sunday School teacher, assisted in Vacation Bible School, and went on several mission trips sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Diana has a “servant’s heart” and is one of the most giving people I know. She has my full support and I know she will work tirelessly to represent the First Congressional District of East Tennessee well.” said Dr. Hoskins.
