Hi y’all,

MJ and I have got a lot of work to do to win Texas and we’re going to need your help. I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why I’m asking you to support my dear friend MJ.

Texas is a battleground state. We have a real shot to flip it this year. And that means doing everything we can to register and turn out voters in every district across the state. Up and down the ballot, across the state, we have strong candidates running for state and national offices because they believe in things like protecting our health care, defending Medicare and Social Security, ending the gun violence epidemic -- and so much more. Turning out our voters, from the smallest of these races to congressional races like mine, means a better shot at winning statewide for MJ.

We can win, but it’s not going to be easy. Pitch in now to help MJ build the powerful grassroots campaign we’ll need to win this election and flip Texas!

Texans all over are saying enough is enough. We have had it with politicians who sell us out to the highest special interest bidder, and march in lockstep with powerful DC bosses like Mitch McConnell -- instead of doing what’s right for Texas.

Just look at MJ’s opponent, Sen. John Cornyn. After 18 years in the Senate as Mitch McConnell’s henchman, he’s seen his approval ratings tank -- to 10 points below Ted Cruz! -- so now he’s calling in all his DC allies from the Koch network to Donald Trump Jr. to prop him up.

MJ and I can win because Texans respect toughness, and neither of us shy from a tough fight. Like when MJ took on the Pentagon to open thousands of military jobs to women and I stood up for Texas women and filibustered for our reproductive rights.

But it’s going to take a lot of hard work and resources to defeat the big money pouring into Texas to back up our opponents. Will you pitch in now to make sure MJ has the resources we need to flip Texas?
