The Kennedy Center is a national cultural treasure — a place meant to celebrate art, creativity, and freedom of expression.
But Donald Trump — a national cultural embarrassment — is trying to force through a name change to “Trump-Kennedy Center” (story [ [link removed] ])
Don’t let this happen. Congress has the power to reject this. Sign the petition, and demand they use that power and stop this move ASAP. [ [link removed] ]
Donald Trump isn’t just a horrible president, he may well be the single worst enemy of the arts and free expression in America. He has repeatedly attacked and bullied artists, journalists, and cultural institutions, and rallied his supporters to do the same. Renaming one of America’s most respected cultural institutions after him would be an insult to the artists, audiences, and history the Kennedy Center represents.
This is not about honoring culture. It’s about rewriting history and turning a shared national institution into a monument to one man’s supersized ego.
Trump’s hand-picked (and utterly unqualified) newly installed Kennedy Center board just approved the change. But they don’t have the power to do this — Congress does. And they must reject it immediately, before Trump starts ripping apart the place, so he can install a wing dedicated to fart jokes.
Sign the petition, and demand Congress reject this NOW: [ [link removed] ]
“We demand Congress immediately reject any effort to rename the Kennedy Center after Donald Trump.”
