Hey John, it’s Tony Evers, Governor of Wisconsin.

I’ve always believed that what’s best for our kids is what’s best for our state. So when Donald Trump and his administration mess with our schools, our kids, and their futures, I take it very seriously.

Dem govs and I have sued Trump time and time again over this B.S. – but we need your help, John. Will you sign on to stand with me and my fellow Dem govs against the Trump administration’s attacks on education?

In March, Donald Trump signed an Executive Order to begin shutting down the Department of Education, and I immediately filed a lawsuit to stop him. And when his administration blocked $72 million for Wisconsin’s kids and schools, my fellow Democratic governors and I filed another lawsuit – and won – securing vital funding for education across the country.

The Trump administration has continuously wreaked havoc on our public schools. They’ve cut funding for important research, made it harder for kids to qualify for free lunch at school, and fired nearly half of the workers at the Education Department. One thing is clear: Trump’s more focused on harming our schools than supporting them.

These reckless decisions are deeply concerning to me as a governor who’s also a former educator – but they also alarm me as someone who’s the grandparent of nine grandkids. Donald Trump must stop messing with our kids, period.

So, I’m asking personally, John: Will you sign on to stand with Democratic governors like me in our fight against Donald Trump’s attacks on education? Your support in this moment is monumental in our push for progress.

I promised I’d fight every effort by President Trump and his administration to mess with our schools, our kids, and their futures, and I will continue to keep that promise.
