A few weeks ago, we celebrated an exciting victory at the U.S. Supreme Court when it ruled that Louisiana's clinic shutdown law is unconstitutional. While this decision is a win for Louisianians and the rule of law, the case should never have gotten this far.
Just four years ago, we won a Supreme Court case challenging an identical Texas law in Whole Woman's Health v. Hellerstedt. Despite our victory in 2016, Louisiana continued to waste taxpayer money to defend its blatantly unconstitutional law all the way up to the Supreme Court, which ruled in our favor again.
These victories are years in the making, and when we take on a new case, we know that we must be prepared for the long haul.
