General Newsletter From the Office of Senator Andy Kim

Happy Friday, New Jersey,

This is our last newsletter of the year. This year has asked a tremendous amount of you. It has asked you to read appalling headlines, juggle skyrocketing costs, and digest unfathomable images. It has asked many of you to do more with less, withstand chaos and unpredictability, and give your neighbors, community, and loved ones extra support in times of need.

Through it all, we hope you know that you are not alone. You deserve a government that works for you, and that’s what we will continue to fight for.

Thank you for your engagement this year. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year. See you in 2026!

We Want to Hear From You

Senator Kim recently opened up about his journey to becoming a caregiver after his dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. If you are a caregiver, we would love to hear from you about your caregiving story – what have you learned, what obstacles have you faced, and what has the experience meant for you?

Please fill out the survey here if you are interested in sharing more about your story or staying in touch about opportunities to engage with Senator Kim around caregiving such as town halls, caregiving conversations, etc.

HOLDING THE FCC CHARIMAN ACCOUNTABLE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE:

On Wednesday during a committee hearing, Senator Kim reminded the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr that the FCC is an independent agency and as the Chairman, he swore an oath to the U.S. Constitution, not to Donald Trump.

WORKING TO SUPPORT CAREGIVERS:

This week, Senator Kim met with Ai-Jen Poo, President of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Executive Director of Caring Across Generations, to talk about his caregiving journey and how we can work together to support caregivers across this country.

Senator Kim looks forward to working with Ai-Jen as we work to provide the relief that so many families need.

FIGHTING TO END GUN VIOLENCE:

Too many families are heartbroken, and too many communities have been torn apart by senseless gun violence.

This week, Senators Kim and Booker re-introduced the Federal Firearm Licensing Act, legislation to prevent gun violence and require individuals to have a federal firearm license before purchasing or receiving a firearm.

This legislation will help save lives. It's time for Congress to step up and deliver.
