The House just passed Rep. Lauren Boebert's bill to strip federal protections from gray wolves across the lower 48.
But here's the part I need you to hear:
Thousands of your fellow Sierra Club supporters took action earlier this week, and because of supporters like you, the bill passed by only the narrowest margin.
We fought hard and made this a fight instead of a rubber-stamp vote. Together, we almost stopped it on the House floor.
Now the bill is headed to the Senate. This is our best — and likely only — chance to defeat it. We need your help to win this fight.
This bill is extreme, friend. It would reinstate the same unlawful Trump-era rule that a federal judge overturned in 2022. It would remove Endangered Species Act protections and hand wolf management to states, opening the door for trophy hunting and unnecessary killing to shrink the population.
We've seen what happens when wolves aren't protected by the Endangered Species Act. In places like Wyoming and Idaho, we've seen mass wolf slaughter. Traps. Torture. Worse.
But here's the good news: The Senate is a completely different landscape. And with the House vote so close, we know this fight is winnable.
