Are you interested in getting involved in Virginia's 2019 election cycle? Then join us tomorrow for AYD's monthly meeting to learn about all things related to key Virginia campaigns. Learn the basics of canvassing, phone/text banking, as well as everything you need to know about AYD's upcoming campaign invasions. It's time to flip Virginia BLUE, so come on out to see what you can do!
This month's meeting will take place August 28th at 7pm in the Central Library auditorium, just a short walk from the Ballston or Virginia Square metro stations. Free parking is also available!

Do you want to flip the Virginia Legislature but aren't sure how to be more active in volunteering? Well, we have the right place for you. The Arlington Young Dems launched our campaign effort to Flip Virginia 2019 and you can help starting next weekend!
It's campaign season and time to focus on electing a Democratic state legislature. We have upcoming volunteer opportunities open to anyone who wants to come:

- September 14th: Alex Askew in Virginia House District 85 & Cheryl Turpin in Virginia Senate District 7 (see Facebook event here)

The Arlington Young Democrats, in partnership with Equality Virginia, call on members and allies to volunteer for this important Equality Means Business campaign during Pride Month, which seeks to find local businesses willing to pledge that they will not discriminate against their employees or customers who are members of the LGBTQ community!
Our Arlington community is one of the bluest in the Commonwealth, and it’s time we start living our values through our businesses. But we need help getting the word out!
Volunteer to help AYD contact local businesses in Arlington (in person or by phone) to tell them about this important campaign and help them join! We will provide all volunteers with a sample script to get you started. Sign-up here!

- Location: The Walk & 5K to End HIV will begin and end at Freedom Plaza (Pennsylvania Avenue and 13th Street, NW). The closest Metro stations are Federal Triangle (Blue/Orange lines) and Metro Center (Blue/Orange/Red lines).

Want to help elect Democrats in less than an hour a month? We're recruiting Arlingtonians who live in apartment and condo complexes to serve as building ambassadors. You'll arrange voter registration events, remind your neighbors about upcoming elections and welcome candidates to visit.
Being a building ambassador is easy and fun! Many of our ambassadors find it a great way to meet their neighbors. Arlington Democrats will provide you with all the help that you need.
