Email from VoteWater We didn’t back down in 2025. We’re not starting now.   Friend, As 2025 comes to a close, one thing is clear: organized resistance works. This year, we proved it. We scored a major court victory early on in the fight to protect the Everglades from harm caused by “Alligator Alcatraz.” Though the state and federal defendants appealed that August decision that stopped construction at the site, we haven’t given up. We will be back in court in April to restore that victory. We also helped write — and pass — new state legislation to block developers from carving up Florida’s state parks. And we’ve shown up in countless ways — loud and unapologetic — to block bad projects, call out polluter greed and political cowardice and safeguard the Greater Everglades at every turn. As the year slows down and people take a breath, we’re grateful for everyone who stood with us, and we’re already gearing up for what comes next. None of this happened by accident. It happened because people like you refused to stay silent — and backed this fight with real resources. Before the year ends, we invite you to make a tax-deductible donation to power the legal battles, political pressure and no-nonsense advocacy coming in 2026. The threats aren’t slowing down. Neither are we. Marjory Stoneman Douglas said it best: “Be a nuisance where it counts.”
Right now is where it counts. Help us close out 2025 strong by giving now. Let’s start the new year the same way we fought through this one — unyielding.   SUPPORT FRIENDS OF THE EVERGLADES P.S.
