Taking action supporting mental health in 2025

Mental health support is essential for living well. For 2025, the PAP has taken concrete action to promote mental health wellness.

The PAP government introduced National Mindline 1771, which provides counselling and triaging services.

PAP MPs from the Mental Health Group have implemented various support initiatives. MP for Holland Bukit Timah GRC Edward Chia established Makan Buddies, while MP for West Coast-Jurong West GRC Hamid Razak has advocated in Parliament for expanded upstream mental health care. Read more

Minister K. Shanmugam emphasised that Singapore will not tolerate hate speech against any group, following the Bondi Beach shooting incident. Singapore will implement strict laws with deterrent penalties against hate speech. Read more

ICYMI, MP for Jalan Besar GRC Shawn Loh considers the cost-of-living support package one of the government's most important initiatives for 2025. This package ensures citizens, especially seniors, benefit from the nation's economic prosperity. Watch more

MP for East Coast GRC Hazlina Abdul Halim anticipates the implementation of the Workplace Fairness Act, a key bill passed in 2025. She emphasised that the act is essential for ensuring safety Singapore's workplaces and plays a crucial role in maintaining the country's talented workforce. Watch more

Foo Cexiang, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, emphasised that upcoming legislation against online harms and scams will be among the most significant policy changes in 2025, providing enhanced protection for Singaporeans. Watch more

According to Valerie Lee, MP for Pasir Ris-Changi GRC, policies supporting the sandwich generation had the most significant impact in 2025. The reduction of the monthly preschool fees cap, in particular, provided substantial financial relief to working parents. Watch more
