Dear John,

The men and women of our Armed Services put their lives on the line every day – not for fame, but for the future of our country. Our troops and Blue Star families make sacrifices that are almost unthinkable.

So when our service men and women come home, we have a responsibility to honor them. To me, that is not politics. It is simply the right thing to do.

I am proud to represent Georgia’s 2nd District, which includes Fort Benning and the Marine Corps Logistics Base. As an advocate for the thousands of veterans and military families who call this district home, I have a particular responsibility to stand up for these communities.

During my time in Congress, I have been proud to advocate for veterans’ medical care, access to education, and fair pensions. As a senior member of Appropriations Committees, I helped pass a $50 billion appropriation for health benefits for our veterans, including innovative PTSD and traumatic brain injury treatments.

I fight every day to ensure a fair deal for our nation’s veterans. I am committed to continuing this work, but my place in Congress is under attack. I am at risk of losing my seat at the table and may not be able to advocate for the good people of Georgia.

John, if you support my work for veterans, I need to ask you to chip in to my campaign for reelection. How much can you contribute? sanfordbishop.com/donate

I honor every man and woman who has sacrificed to serve our country. I promise to fight for you in every way that I can.

Sincerely,
Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr.
