From Children’s Voices to G7 Action: 2025 in Words

2025 has been a year of significant progress despite severe global aid challenges. With your support, we amplified children’s voices on the international stage, at the African World Summit and the World Health Summit. By sharing the voices of those most affected by malaria, we inspired global solidarity and drove change, reaching leaders and more than 25 million people worldwide.

We sounded the alarm with The Price of Retreat report ([link removed]) , developed in collaboration with the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA). The report warned G7 leaders of the economic consequences of underfunding malaria at the 8th Global Fund Replenishment, making clear that ending malaria is not only about saving lives, but also about fuelling economies.

Our advocacy and creative communications achieved groundbreaking visibility. Decision-makers across the G7 were reached through extensive global coverage. This included the UK, who supported Gavi with a significant commitment to ensure vaccines reach the most vulnerable children, and, despite early media reports suggesting a potential reduction, in November the UK exceeded expectations by committing £850 million to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

In one of the most challenging years on record, every pledge, every campaign, every conversation has meant more children sleeping safely under bed nets, more mothers accessing treatment, and more lives protected. As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with hope, energy, and determination, because progress against malaria is possible.
