John, the DNC
just decided NOT to release its autopsy report analyzing the 2024
Election:

On the heels of our massive losses as a party in 2024, I ran to serve on
the DNC’s leadership because I wanted to change the party. I did so
because I care deeply about building a Democratic Party that actually
wins. I was elected to that role, but ultimately removed due to my work to
challenge the status quo and primary asleep-at-the-wheel incumbents in
safe Democratic seats.

The DNC hiding this autopsy report is further proof that our party
leadership isn’t serious about fixing what’s wrong. They don’t even want
to talk about it! They’d rather face the midterms with blinders on than
disclose where they went wrong. This will not help us rebuild faith with
the American people. Quite honestly, it’s gaslighting.

To win in 2026 and beyond, we need to change the party. And if we really
want to fix it, we have to be willing to admit that something is broken in
the first place.

If the party leaders won’t take the steps required to rebuild the party
into a winning coalition (even after they literally pledged to do so), we
will take matters into our own hands.

The reason Leaders We Deserve decided to challenge a select number of
ineffectual Democratic incumbents in safe seats is not because it makes me
popular in DC, it’s because the thing that we need to do most is the thing
that 95% of DC is terrified of doing: challenging the status quo.

Many elected officials and party leaders say they want change, but few
actually do. Why? Any serious threat to the status quo also threatens
their position of power, and they will do everything they can to stop that
threat.

What concerns me most about the state of our party is that our decisions
do not seem to be driven by principles. More than anything, they are
driven by fear. Fear of pissing off special interests. Fear of pissing off
consultants. Fear of pissing off leaders in Congress. Fear of learning
from our own mistakes. What we need to fear most is the fact that while
party leadership ignores the uncomfortable truth in favor of sticking to
the status quo, we are losing the American people.

That’s why Leaders We Deserve is raising $20 million to contest
red-to-blue districts across the country AND unseat ineffective,
asleep-at-the-wheel Democrats in Congress.
