Despite having the option to pass a clean continuing resolution from the beginning, Democrats chose to shut down the government for 43 days—all to score political points against President Trump. Republicans stood firm and ultimately defeated their attempt to hold the country hostage.
Now, House Republicans are cleaning up yet another mess left behind by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris—this time in healthcare.
We voted to lower premium costs for every American by saving billions for taxpayers, expanding consumer choice, and increasing flexibility and access to care. As a result, healthcare premiums will drop by 11%, and taxpayers will save nearly $30 billion.
That’s what fighting for affordability looks like. And while there is still more work to do, policies like these—along with our historic tax cuts—are already beginning to ease the burden on American families.
