I’m Anthony Hensley, and I served in the Kansas Legislature for 44 years. Over that time, I’ve seen countless politicians come and go, and I experienced the Brownback era firsthand.

Republican Derek Schmidt was one of Sam Brownback’s strongest defenders. He spent $1.4 million of taxpayer money in court to defend Brownback’s unconstitutional funding cuts to K-12 education. The people of Kansas remember how devastating Brownback’s leadership was, but too many give Schmidt a pass for his role in it. It’s time that changes.
