John, with another brutal winter closing in, I can't stop thinking about Fatima.*

Our team first met the mother of seven last winter in the northern Syria displacement camp, where she's lived for eight years. Back then, she told us:

As children and families struggle to make it through winter, IRC teams are working around the clock to help people get essential winter items.

In Gaza, we're distributing winter kits that include warm clothing to help prevent illnesses caused by cold weather. We're also continuing to provide emergency cash assistance to help vulnerable households meet their winter needs safely and with dignity.

And in Ukraine, we're providing cash assistance to highly vulnerable households in Kharkiv, so they can purchase heating supplies for their homes, like gas stoves and power banks, as well as warm blankets, coats and other winter gear.
