Across the Commonwealth, young people are already experiencing heatwaves, flooding, worsening air quality, and drought. Each additional ton of pollution worsens these harms, and the consequences fall on children who had no say in the decision.
Pennsylvania does not need this project. The state can meet its energy needs with cleaner, cheaper alternatives. Choosing more fossil fuel pollution over the health of children is an unconstitutional choice, not a necessity.
These 13 youth are refusing to sit back while their futures are on the line. Through this appeal, they are ensuring their home state fulfills its constitutional duty to protect public trust resources, secure a safe climate, and safeguard the wellbeing of current and future generations.
