Hi John,
I want to introduce you to something that makes WYA different from any other organization in Washington: our chapters.

Right now, we have 10 youth-led chapters across the state—from Seattle to Moses Lake, Bellevue to Pullman. Each one is run by young people under 24 who organize around the issues that matter most to their communities.
Here's what a WYA chapter actually does:
- Runs local campaigns on mental health, gun violence prevention, and educational equity—chosen by the youth themselves, not adults
- Trains young leaders in organizing, public speaking, and civic engagement
- Connects peers to college and career opportunities, because organizing skills are life skills, and we focus on youth development
- Mobilizes for lobby days, hearings, and community events where young people speak directly to decision-makers
Our chapter leaders receive monthly stipends because we believe young leaders deserve to be compensated for their work. When you give to WYA, you're directly investing in their leadership.
In 2026, we're expanding to 15 chapters — bringing this model to communities that have never had youth organizing infrastructure before. Rural towns. Immigrant communities. Places where young people are often told to wait their turn.
We're not waiting. And neither should you.
Every gift before December 31 helps us reach our $5,000 goal and is tax-deductible for 2025.
In solidarity,
Chetan Soni Executive Director, Washington Youth Alliance
