All eyes are on Kansas right now.

In states all across the country, Donald Trump’s gerrymander has been settled. In Texas, it passed — handing the National GOP an extra five seats in next year’s midterms. But in Indiana, it failed — because ordinary people like you sounded the alarm and took action.

Now, we’re the final unknown.

I want to run through our gameplan for these critical final weeks before the legislative session, but first, I need to ask: will you pitch in whatever you can to make sure Kansas Democrats keep their voice in Congress?

Here’s what my team and I are planning to do before the new year:

We’re going to get loud. Yes, even louder than we’ve been before. What’s happening in Kansas right now is not normal. And we need to act like it. If we treat this moment like politics as usual, folks are going to tune out — and that’s how we’d lose. Kansas Republicans want to pass this gerrymander in silence, which means we need to make every Kansan aware of this unprecedented, partisan power grab.

We’re going to make our case directly to Kansans. National Republicans want this battle to happen behind closed doors — where they decide the opinions that matter. But we live in a democracy. And in a democracy, everyone’s opinion matters. That’s why we’re going to keep making our case directly to Kansas families and build up the grassroots opposition we’ll need to stop this plan in its tracks.

We’re going to build a war chest to fight back… hopefully. There’s no two ways about it: the amount of money we raise will make a difference. Just imagine it: if we raised only a few dollars between now and December 31st? Kansas Republicans will plow ahead, with the full confidence that we won’t have the resources to push back.

But if lots and lots of people chip in? Kansas Republicans will understand just how many political consequences would come with Trump’s gerrymander — and they’ll back off, just like they did in Indiana.

There’s a lot to get done this month. And we can only do it with this incredible team of supporters by our side.
