| | AHC and BrookWynn Capital Acquire Silver Spring High‑Rise | | |
AHC and BrookWynn Capital have acquired The Premier, a 160-unit high-rise just steps from Silver Spring Metro — converting 100 homes into affordable and workforce housing while ensuring no residents are displaced, as featured in Bisnow's coverage of the deal.
The Premier will introduce onsite Resident Services for the first time, enhancing support for families and expanding access to opportunity near the future Purple Line.
“Deals like this are rare. We’re actually increasing affordable housing, not just fighting to keep what exists,” said Paul Bernard, AHC President & CEO.

When Aaron Pinto Tamayo first joined AHC’s College and Career Readiness (CCR) program, he didn’t know what he wanted to do after high school. Now, he’s one of the youngest staff members at Amazon.
“When I was hired, I was really excited,” Aaron said. “It took me a few hundred applications before I got accepted — and not just to Amazon but to other companies … I visited the building before I got the job just to see where I’d be working and especially on the first day I was like, ‘Whoa, no way.’”
| | New ELEVATE Program Supports Economic Mobility | | |
AHC is launching ELEVATE, a new economic mobility program designed to help residents build financial stability and work toward greater self-sufficiency. The program is in the final stages of preparation, with staff training currently underway ahead of a launch with residents in the new year.
“ELEVATE will create meaningful changes for residents by addressing barriers and opening doors to opportunity,” Tiffany Lewis, Program Manager of Economic Mobility, said. “The program recognizes that every person’s path is unique, and we’re here to support residents in building the futures they envision for themselves and their families.”
