On January 13, 2026, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in two cases involving state restrictions on transgender participation in sports: West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox. The Court will consider whether bans on transgender athletes violate Title IX’s prohibition on sex discrimination in education or the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.
