As the Dean of the Upper Midwest Congressional Delegation, I am proud to help campaign for and elect Democratic candidates for Congress across the region. There are seats across the upper Midwest that we’re ready to flip in 2026, but first we have to win the seats we already hold.
I have two fabulous colleagues in the region who are both running in tough reelection races — Kristen McDonald Rivet of Michigan and Frank Mrvan of Indiana, my colleague on the House Appropriations Committee. We already know national Republicans are going to target both of their seats in 2026, so we have to be ready to fight back.
These aren’t easy races. Kristen is running for re-election in Michigan for the first time in a Republican-leaning seat that both she and Trump won in 2024. And Trump and JD Vance have been targeting Indiana's congressional maps just to defeat Frank.
If we're going to take back the House, we need to win races like Kristen’s and Frank’s.
