Dear Friends,

I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season! This fall, I was happy to be home spending time in Southwestern Connecticut, celebrating milestones and supporting our community. From hosting town halls to visiting nonprofits, it was inspiring to see the dedication and resilience of our neighbors firsthand. Below, you’ll find a closer look at some of the events I had the privilege of participating in this past month.

Investing in Affordable Housing:

I was elated to join the Bridgeport groundbreaking of 51 new affordable units going up as part of Winward Apartment’s Phase II construction plan. While there is still much work to be done to ensure that every resident has access to quality, affordable housing, developments like these are critical to reaching that goal.

Honoring our Veterans:

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to run in Westport's annual Veterans Day 5k, organized by Homes for the Brave, a non-profit dedicated to providing housing, programs, and services to veterans in need. It was inspiring to join the community in recognizing the incredible sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served our country.

Distributing Thanksgiving Turkeys:

Person to Person is one of Connecticut’s leaders in combatting hunger, especially during the holiday season. It was a privilege to join the P2P team during their annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway. Every family deserves to have a joyous Thanksgiving celebration, and I’m grateful to P2P for working so diligently to make that happen.

Speaking with Constituents:

I held a town hall in Trumbull to hear directly from constituents about the issues most important to them. Several attendees asked me about healthcare, particularly their concerns about the expiration of the Affordable Care Act's premium tax credits. Many shared the devastating impact these rising premiums would have on their ability to manage everyday expenses. The discussion underscored the importance of affordable healthcare, and rest assured, I will continue to work to make healthcare accessible to all.
