Local Spotlight: Crime Stoppers of Houston Raises Over $2 Million at the “Raise ‘Em Up for Texas” Annual Gala
Houston Gala
Crime Stoppers of Houston hosted its Annual “Raise ’Em Up for Texas” Gala bringing together more than 460 supporters and raising an impressive $2 million to support safety, prevention and crime-solving programs across Texas. Chaired by Brooke Lee, Dana Barton and Kristen Collins, and presented by Glenda and Russell Gordy and the C. James and Carole Walter Looke Family Fund, the evening celebrated the community’s continued commitment to protecting children and strengthening Houston.
Guests enjoyed a lively happy hour, silent auction and raffle before a program led by Johnny Bravo and Crime Stoppers CEO Rania Mankarious.
One of the evening’s most powerful moments came from Maurine Molak, co-founder of the David’s Legacy Foundation, who shared her son David’s story and highlighted the foundation’s partnership with Crime Stoppers through The John M. O’Quinn Foundation Million for Million campaign.
The program also included the presentation of the McIngvale Family Humanitarian Award to Chris Shepherd and Lindsey Brown of the Southern Smoke Foundation for their outstanding service to the Houston community.
The night continued with an energetic live auction and Paddles Up fundraiser, followed by an exciting announcement: Crime Stoppers will launch a new Women’s Collective and expand its reach to 10 million Texas students in 2026 through the upcoming SafeSpace Student Hub.
The celebration concluded with music, dancing and appreciation for the many partners, officials and community advocates who helped make the evening a success.
If your Crime Stoppers program has a milestone you would like to share, please reach out to the Texas Crime Stoppers staff.
