Dear John,
We’re in full end-of-year fundraising mode–thanks for being along for the ride! In the past few weeks, you’ve heard from our leaders about why organizing matters to them. You’ve heard about the wins we’ve accomplished this year. Perhaps you even saw me brave the Minnesota cold to deliver this announcement. [[link removed]] I truly believe our organization is one worthy of investment, and I want you to be a part of it. Here’s why organized money matters.

We are a power organization. That means that we are building power for material changes in our communities: dignity and stability for renters, public education that works for all of us, vibrant and funded arts spaces, universal childcare. [[link removed]] To do this, we are organizing people into strategic roles and focused actions–and it’s working. This year, Duluth Tenants won Duluth Right to Repair. Minneapolis Families for Public Schools won smaller, enforceable class sizes and special education caseloads. These changes are not bandaids, these are for the long haul.

But power is not just organized people. Power is organized people AND organized money. Straight up, organizing costs money. [[link removed]] We need grassroots dollars to build a strong organizing program that can withstand institutional attacks.
