Dear John,
Across generations, children come to the playground wanting the same thing: to play with their peers and feel a sense of belonging. For 30 years, Playworks has helped make that possible, creating safe and joyful play spaces where every kid can connect.
As a child, Taylor Glaser spent recess reading alone, unsure how to join in the games around her. Today, Taylor has returned to her childhood elementary school, this time as a Playworks Trainer, helping ensure students experience the welcoming playground she once longed for.
Taylor was able to do this thanks to TagTeam, an innovative Playworks program. Through her work training staff members, Taylor transformed recess into a place where kids felt welcome and confident joining in. By modeling play and encouraging students to lead and support one another, she helped change the playground experience for an entire school - creating space for connection, friendship, and belonging.
For Taylor, TagTeam has made a full-circle moment possible, returning to her childhood elementary school and helping students build friendships and confidence through play. It’s a powerful example of the lasting impact Playworks creates for kids and communities.
