In 2019, I introduced the Health Care Affordability Act to make sure that whatever happened, people could afford their health care. My Health Care Affordability Act was passed into law with the larger American Rescue Plan and has become incredibly popular in the years since.

Now it’s a casualty of the Republican war on health care. The cost of coverage for working families is about to explode as a direct result of Republicans’ refusal to extend these popular tax credits.

Millions of Americans have found that the cost of their coverage has skyrocketed and is no longer affordable. Far too many families will go without care, people will die, and the record-breaking gains we have made in getting more Americans affordable health care will be wiped away.

Republicans’ refusal to extend these savings is cruel, and the consequences will be devastating.

We have to make these Republicans pay at the ballot box next year for letting down our families.
