Compost Facilities - Where Are They and How Are They Regulated [ [link removed] ]
Composting is good for the environment. Unlike landfills that create methane, a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change, composting breaks down organic material without releasing methane. Better yet, composting recycles organic materials into "black gold," a nutrient rich soil supplement that holds moisture and provides nutrients to plants. This webinar provides an overview of the different technologies used to compost organic materials, and also how EGLE regulates composters to ensure people and our environment are protected. This webinar provides details on how to find composters and information on whether they accept food waste. Join us to hear how your community can benefit from both large- and small-scale composting operations.
