Friend, I sat down with the AJC’s Politically Georgia podcast to talk about where Georgia Republicans are at heading into 2026.
I was blunt: When we show up, meet voters where they are, and make our case, we win. But recent elections have shown what happens when we take things for granted.
We lost two statewide races last month. We lost a state House seat last week that we should’ve won.
I’m not a pundit, but as I see it, Georgia is a 47% Republican, 45% Democrat state. We have to show up and compete in every single race.
So Democrats are energized heading into 2026 and we have to flip that script.
I also talked about affordability and what I’m doing to lower insurance costs. We’ve cracked down on fraud and abuse, and passed meaningful “tort reform.”
We’re starting to see the results: Three auto insurance companies have announced rate cuts for Georgia families.
My point is this: We have a story to tell about helping folks keep more of what they earn. Democrats have nothing but empty promises and spending more money.
But we have to make that case clearly, consistently, and statewide.

John King Georgia Insurance Commissioner |
I’m a lawman and a soldier, not a politician. As Georgia’s Insurance Commissioner, I’m standing up to the big corporations, rooting out corruption, and putting families first. As the first Hispanic elected statewide in our history, I'm working to build bridges with Latino voters before Election Day.
This work matters, and it’s critical we have the means to get the word out. I need you on the frontlines with me.
If you’re able, I hope you’ll donate $10, $5, or even just $2 now. Every single donation counts. -John King |
