Dear John,
Whether it’s talking to fellow moms at a recent roundtable, my own two children, or reading the news, It’s pretty clear that many kids are struggling right now.
The holidays may be a lonely time of year, but these days, kids contend with so many systems that isolate them year-round. We need actual policy solutions that will allow kids to thrive in today’s world.
I keep asking myself: Why is it taking us so long to protect our children? That’s why I’m running for Congress. [[link removed]]
As the only mother who’s in this race, I know exactly what young people need to feel their best and live their best lives. My kids are young adults now, but they grew up much the same way children do today: in an online world that can keep them isolated.
Children contend with unmitigated AI, fewer opportunities to develop social skills, complicated cancel culture, online bullying, and addictive technology.
That’s why, in Washington, I would support legislation like the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). This bipartisan bill holds tech companies accountable for the well-being and safety of our kids by mandating default safety settings, parental controls, data privacy, and transparency on online platforms.
By design, social media keeps kids coming back for more and often exposes them to inappropriate content, which can harm their mental health.
I know you care deeply about building a world where every child feels safe and supported. That’s why I’m asking you to donate today, so that I can fight for policies that protect our kids.

We need to not only work to keep kids safe online, but also in real life. Kids face regular news of violence in spaces that should be safe, like schools, synagogues, and churches. It’s our job to keep them secure everywhere.
We are the stewards of the next generation and the protectors of the most vulnerable among us, a job I have always taken very seriously from the time I was a teacher at Stanford University to this day as a mother.
Thank you for standing with me,
Jami Floyd
