Nearly 20 years ago, I founded what became The Climate Reality Project to train advocates around the world to share the truth about the climate crisis and its solutions.

We started with 50 people in my barn in Tennessee, and since then, Climate Reality has built a global network of 4.5 million informed advocates speaking truth to power and building the political will to drive much-needed solutions.

With the support of friends like you, our network keeps growing. To meet this moment, this year we launched the REALITY® Tour, a series of trainings around the world and online, with key events in Paris, Nairobi, Rio de Janeiro, and Ulaanbaatar – all leading up to COP 30’s high-stakes climate talks in Belém, Brazil.

As we reflect on 2025, here are a few highlights of what we achieved together:

• Grew our global network by 700,000 new climate advocates.
• Hosted 13 trainings around the world, bringing thousands of newly trained Climate Reality Leaders into our network.
• Over 100,000 people from 128 countries participated in the REALITY Tour online experience, offered in 12 languages interpreted using state of the art technology.
• Developed nearly 60 new partnerships with organizations across the globe to build a more powerful network for change.
• Integrated another climate advocacy organization – Climate Changemakers – into Climate Reality to drive state and local climate policy wins across the US.
• And our global network stepped up to educate their communities and deliver climate wins through ambitious regional and local campaigns.

Make no mistake – the climate movement faced serious challenges this year. But despite those headwinds, the Climate Reality network doubled down to push back on the reckless fossil fuel agenda coming from the White House and urged leaders around the world to stand firm in their commitment to the clean energy transition.

Thanks in part to pressure from our global network, bolstered by the REALITY Tour, more than 80 countries announced their support for a roadmap to transition away from fossil fuels at COP 30. While this climate summit ended without the agreement we wanted, we won’t stop until we succeed.

As we head into our 20th year as an organization, I’m counting on advocates like you to help us sustain momentum. We have exciting plans for 2026, and we hope you will continue to help us inspire leadership and climate action at all levels of society.

In this pivotal moment for action to solve the climate crisis, I remain optimistic about the future. The Sustainability Revolution is unstoppable. Citizens the world over are raising their voices and driving the urgent change we need.

Progress is like a big wheel turning in the right direction. Though there may be smaller wheels turning in the wrong direction, they cannot overcome the forward momentum and are, themselves, moving ahead.

We are going to win this struggle. The primary reason is because of incredible supporters and advocates like you. 

No matter where you are, you hold the power to build the clean energy future we know is possible. Together, I know that we can make that happen.
