People often wonder, "Eileen, how can you stay involved in politics? Isn't it so discouraging?"
I live my life - and we drive our organization - on two principles:
- God has called us to be involved in local civics in the public arena. If our voice and values are not at the table, how can we expect them to be represented, defended, or preserved for future generations?
-
Our responsibility is ultimately obedience to God. All results are up to Him.
I do not place my hope in elections or party strategy or even people.
Because of what happened over 2,000 years ago: a baby born of a virgin in a lowly manger who lived a perfect life and willingly chose to die on a cross for MY sins and then rose from death, I have hope (Matthew 2:10-14).
Perhaps you too have been contemplating "life". May I encourage you to give Jesus a chance?
In this world of chaos and confusion He gives PEACE. It is in Him alone that we have salvation, hope and eternal life. Take comfort – He seeks you and knows your innermost thoughts and still loves you. Psalm 139 is one of my favorite Psalms.
