GOPAC Election Fund Endorses Teixeira, Flores, Lujan and deZevallos in Texas Congressional Primary Elections
Washington, DC – Today, GOPAC announced its initial round of endorsements in Texas Congressional Primary Elections:
· Mark Teixeira – District 21
· Eric Flores – District 34
· John Lujan – District 35
· Shelly deZevallos – District 38
"With ten or more Texas U.S. House districts having competitive GOP primary elections, our Project Lonestar is supporting leaders dedicated to the body of work that confronts serious lawmakers. They are governing conservatives seeking to advance pro-growth, free enterprise ideas to make the lives of Americans easier, safer and better,” commented GOPAC Chairman and CEO David Avella.
Project Lonestar is part of the GOPAC Election Fund’s program to invest in governing conservatives in competitive congressional primary elections and deploying independent expenditures to support our endorsed candidates.

About Mark Teixeira: During his Major League Baseball career, Mark earned three All-Star selections, five Gold Gloves, three Silver Sluggers, and capped his career with a World Series Championship in 2009. Mark didn’t just win games, he was twice a finalist for the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award, he also received the 2018 Heisman Humanitarian Award and has served on numerous boards, supporting causes from youth sports to college scholarships. Mark and his wife Leigh have three children.
About Eric Flores: Eric Flores is a former Texas Army National Guard Infantry Captain and former Assistant U.S. Attorney. While serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Eric led landmark prosecutions of cartel-connected and human trafficking operations, dismantled the district’s largest transnational human-smuggling ring, and secured the conviction of one of Texas’s “Top Ten” most-wanted fugitives, accomplishments recognized with two U.S. Attorney’s Awards. Currently, his legal career is focused on leading efforts to defend municipalities and school districts across Texas. Eric is a devoted husband and father of two.
About John Lujan: John served as Deputy in the Bexar County Sheriff's Department for five years. He then joined the San Antonio Fire Department, where he served for over 25 years. He founded a small IT firm that has grown into a thriving business, now employing over 550 people in and around the community. First elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2016, John is currently serving his third full term in office, where he serves as Vice-Chair of the Juvenile Justice and Family Issues Committee and as a member of the Transportation Committee. He and his wife, Freda, have been married for over 40 years. Together, they've raised five boys, three of whom are adopted.
About Shelly deZevallos: Shelly is a small business owner, pilot, and lifelong Houstonian. She is principal at Independent Mortgage Company and president of West Houston Airport. Her track record of success led Governor Greg Abbott to appoint her to the Small Business Freedom Council, also known as the Texas DOGE, in addition to the Aerospace and Aviation Advisory Committee. In 2019, she was appointed to the United States Department of Transportation Safety Oversight and Certification Advisory Committee (SOCAC), where she advised the Trump administration on aviation safety and certification issues. Shelly and her husband have twin daughters.
