Dear John,
A girl who avoids early marriage can get so much more out of life. More time to be a child, more education, and greater ability to build the future she wants for herself.
That’s why what happened in Bolivia this year is so extraordinary. The government took the historic step of banning child marriage, ensuring that no girl under age 18 can be legally married. Thanks to generous Ipas supporters like you, more girls will be able to avoid unhealthy relationships and teenage pregnancy. More girls will be able to stay in school. And more girls will follow their dreams.
This progress didn’t happen overnight. It resulted from years of persistent advocacy by Ipas and partners to protect girls’ rights and end the child marriage crisis in Bolivia. With your support, we collected evidence to show how existing laws harmed girls, trained and supported lawmakers to champion change, and built a nationwide advocacy campaign to end early and forced marriage.
When you support Ipas, you support the yearslong hard work and resilience it takes to make historic change like this. In the coming year, we’ll continue to fight every day to ensure girls’ futures. But we can’t do it without you.
Please donate today to give the gift of a bright future to girls around the world. Every dollar makes a difference and fuels lasting change for girls, their families and communities.
