Team, as I write this, 30 million Americans are waiting and watching for Mitch McConnell to do something. Anything.

If the Senate doesn’t act in the next week, these folks will lose the unemployment relief they’ve been counting on while they’re out of work because of the pandemic. Right now, Mitch has no plan to extend these benefits, even as the coronavirus crisis worsens and continues to threaten folks’ ability to get back to work.

The best part: Mitch says he’s hesitating on this because he doesn’t want to give people a “bonus” to not go to work.

That’s almost as insulting as it is heartless.

Trust me—the 1 million Kentuckians who have filed for unemployment in the last few months would love nothing more than to have things back to normal and go back to their jobs. But they can’t. And they have no choice but to rely on this relief funding to afford rent, medicine, and food during this crisis.

Let’s be clear about something: Mitch isn’t opposed to using taxpayer funds for relief. He’s fought tooth and nail to send billions to corporations and special interests—including a $500 billion slush fund for corporations with few strings attached.

That’s Mitch: Even in a crisis of this magnitude, he and his friends come first—unemployed Kentuckians can go to the back of the line.

Well, I’m here to say if Mitch won’t lift a finger to help the people who are out of work during this crisis, then he should lose HIS job. If you can, chip in now, and let’s get the job done:
