Donald Trump is dragging us toward yet another senseless war—this time with Venezuela. His administration has already launched more than 20 deadly strikes on small boats in the Caribbean, killing at least 87 people.1
Trump claims these attacks target “narco-terrorists,” but the White House has offered no proof that these vessels carried drugs or cartel members.
Now, Trump’s threatening to go even further. Trump has floated airstrikes and even a land invasion of Venezuela—all without congressional approval. There are already over 15,000 U.S. troops stationed in the region, and an aircraft carrier strike group is on standby.2
But we can stop this. This week, the House may vote on a war powers resolution, a bill that would block Trump from attacking Venezuela without congressional approval.3 This vote is our best chance to stop another endless war before it starts.

Let’s be clear: None of this is about stopping drugs. It’s about oil. Venezuela holds the world’s largest oil reserves.4 Trump’s allies in Congress have openly said U.S. oil companies would have a “field day” if the U.S. invaded.5 Trump is reviving the “war on terror” playbook—rebranding it as a “war on drugs” to sidestep Congress and distract from his real goal: securing oil and boosting his billionaire donor base.
But representatives in Congress have felt our pressure and now have the opportunity and responsibility to stop him. Add your name to demand Congress pass a war powers resolution and stop Trump’s warmongering.
