We took the Trump administration to court again, this time to stop an outrageous and unlawful $100,000 fee on H-1B visas that would hurt our classrooms, hospitals, and public universities.
These visas are a critical tool for filling essential roles in Maryland, including teachers, doctors, nurses, and researchers — the people who keep our communities moving forward.
A $100,000 fee per worker would shut the door on all of that.
Congress never authorized this fee. The Trump administration invented it, bypassing the law, ignoring required procedures, and forcing states to absorb the damage.
Our institutions can't afford this outrageous new fee, but Maryland families will pay the price through overcrowded classrooms, stalled research, and lost opportunities. We’re filing this lawsuit to stop the Trump administration from putting the cost of this unlawful policy onto Marylanders.
While we’re fighting back against reckless federal overreach, my campaign depends on grassroots supporters like you to keep us ready for whatever comes next.
If you’re able, will you chip in $5 today so we can keep fighting back?
