Hi
Friend,
As we approach the end of the year, I wanted to be sure you saw the message below.
The energy coming out of this year’s American Epilepsy Society meeting was remarkable — and for those of us committed to advancing cures, deeply encouraging.
What stands out most in the observations by our 2025 Taking Flight grantees (below) is not only how innovative these approaches are — from neurostimulation and gene therapy to studying living human brain tissue — but how much remains to be discovered. Why do certain treatments work for some patients and not others? How can we move discoveries more quickly toward truly personalized, disease-modifying therapies?
This is exactly where philanthropic support matters most. Federal funding is more uncertain than ever and often can’t take the early risks required to explore these ideas. Gifts from committed supporters like you allow researchers to pursue research that will answer these questions, sooner rather than later.
As you think about your year-end giving, I hope you’ll consider supporting CURE Epilepsy. A gift made by December 31 allows us to keep backing bold, early-stage research and give scientists the resources they need to turn this momentum into real progress for the children and families who are waiting for better answers.
Thank you for your continued support and generosity,
Alysha Biehl
