[ [link removed] ]Leaders We Deserve

John,

When we started Leaders We Deserve, we weren’t just looking for candidates
who check boxes. Being a young candidate isn’t enough. Trust me there’s a
lot of older AND younger people who should definitely not be in power. We
are looking for people who show up, challenge power, take hits — and keep
going.

That’s exactly the kind of leaders our new slate of endorsed candidates
are.

Today, Leaders We Deserve is proud to endorse:

* Demi Palecek (IL HD-13)
* Laalitya Acharya (OH HD-56)
* Matt Post (MD HD-14)
* Kristian Carranza (TX HD-118)

[ [link removed] ]I’m going to share more about each of these candidates below, but if
you’re ready to support them now, will you split a $5
contribution to their campaigns and Leaders We Deserve to back the next
generation of leaders?

Demi Palecek is a military veteran, a survivor, and a community organizer.
She’s fought for our democracy in uniform — literally standing guard at
the Capitol after January 6. When Donald Trump sent troops to Chicago,
Demi made headlines as a member of the National Guard who publicly said
she’d refuse to follow illegal orders. She’s now running for the Illinois
state legislature because she is a fighter for her community and refuses
to back down.

Laalitya Acharya is an engineer, a public school grad, and an activist.
She’s running for Ohio’s 56th House District to fight for the same schools
and communities that raised her. She’s the real deal — and she’s exactly
the kind of person we need in office if we want to build a government that
fully funds our public schools and actually works for working people and
small businesses.

Matt Post has never stopped fighting for Maryland: strengthening public
schools on the Board of Education, advocating for an end to gun violence
(he actually used to work closely with me at March For Our Lives where he
was part of our team that wrote amicus briefs for SCOTUS on gun cases),
and supporting teachers, bus drivers, secretaries and more as a public
education labor attorney. He is running because he knows that Maryland can
have the best public schools, safest communities, strongest workers’
rights, most abundant affordable housing, healthiest environment and more
if the people are willing to fight for that future.

Kristian Carranza grew up on the Southside of San Antonio, raised by a
single mom. Her family lived paycheck to paycheck, relied on school meals,
and depended on Pell Grants to access higher education — giving Kristian
firsthand insight into affordability challenges for working families.
Kristian ran for this seat in 2024, losing by less than 3,000 votes.
Leaders We Deserve invested significantly to raise her name ID in the
district — one of the top pickup opportunities in Texas. We know she can
win this pivotal race if she has a strong foundation of support.
