For over half a century, the Clean Water Act has safeguarded communities from industrial water pollution. Rapidly evolving threats, including those from PFAS chemicals, fossil fuel pipelines, and factory farm waste, mean the EPA must work to fortify our defenses — not eviscerate them. But instead of cracking down on corporate polluters, it is encouraging MORE pollution by eliminating protections for sensitive wetlands. If finalized, this rule will result in increased pollution downstream — in our drinking water, at our beaches, and in our rivers. Wetlands are crucial for protecting clean water, providing habitats, and mitigating flooding. These critical functions are only becoming more important as climate change increases the frequency of extreme weather events. Even under the Trump Administration, public comments are still a critical part of the democratic process and can help stop this dangerous rule! We cannot allow pro-polluter policies to undermine our bedrock environmental protections. Send your message urging the EPA to reverse course and maintain protections for wetlands and streams. Thanks for taking action,
