After reports that he considered moving to Texas to run in one of their rigged GOP-drawn districts, Issa instead declared:

And that means if we want to flip the U.S. House in 2026, California Democrats must fight harder than ever.

Passing Prop 50 ensured that we still can win the House majority.
But Texas’ rigged maps still exist. The Supreme Court just upheld them. Donald Trump and his MAGA cronies have used every dirty trick to engineer this national advantage.
So what’s their next move? Hold every California district possible — even the competitive ones where Democrats might be favored.
Issa’s decision wasn’t offhand. It was a rallying cry to vulnerable Republican incumbents:
